Kansas City Chiefs coach Andy Reid has revealed that he actually has some history with Taylor Swift and her father, something that Travis Kelce was not expecting to hear as the team prepares for the Super Bowl against the San Francisco 49ers. Reid has got an incredible three Super Bowl wins to his name already and he has talked about his past with Swift on the “Let’s Go!” podcast with Tom Brady, Larry Fitzgerald and Jim Gary.
Naturally, he was asked what it has been like for someone like Swift to be linked so heavily with the team during most of the season. “Yeah, listen, she’s been great,” he said of Swift, 34, before revealing how their paths first crossed. “I knew her before, from Philadelphia. Her dad [Scott Swift] played at [University of] Delaware and was a big football fan and good guy,” he shared. “So I had met him there and her.”
Kelce’s reaction
He also admitted that Kelce was not totally happy when he learned that Reid knew Swift long before him. “So that was the last thing Trav wanted to hear, that I knew her before him,” he shared. “She told him, ‘I know your coach.’ And he went, ‘Oh, God, come on!'” “She’s a good girl. And I’m happy for Trav,” Reid added. “And there has been no distraction that way at all.” “Trav’s handled it right, she’s handled it right and we just move forward,” he added. “So it hasn’t been a problem at all.”
