Kansas City Chiefs coach Dave Merritt has revealed that Taylor Swift, who is dating the team’s tight end Travis Kelce, gifted him ‘victory Pop Tarts’ at the weekend.

The Chiefs, who are 10-1 for the season, narrowly beat the Carolina Panthers 30-27 on Sunday. It was an ugly nail-biting victory but for Swift, it appears a win is a win no matter the quality.

The ‘Fortnight’ songstress still decided the win merited a reward for one member of the team.

Merritt, who is in his sixth season as Kansas City’s DBs coach, revealed that the songstress had put her expert baking skills to the test to gift him a little treat.

He said the thoughtful present made him special until his wife Yolanda hilariously rained on his parade and told him the pop sensation had long been baking for the team.

‘Taylor Swift baked homemade victory Pop Tarts [for] me! Yolonda Merritt said, “She’s done it all season for different people Dave,”; Merritt wrote alongside a photo of the home-baked goodies. ‘thought I was SPECIAL. Sweet young woman regardless!’

The 14-time Grammy Award winner has been dating Kelce for over a year, becoming a beloved member of Chiefs Kingdom.

She has regularly attended games both at Arrowhead and on the road, including the Chiefs’ run to the Super Bowl last season in Las Vegas where she watched her NFL beau clinch the Lombardi trophy for a third time.

And, to put the icing on the cake, it appears her support extends beyond the stands and into the Kansas City locker room.

Head coach Andy Reid revealed in February that the singer and songwriter also won over some of Kelce’s teammates by baking them Pop-Tarts last season.

‘I think it’s a great escape for her,’ he told Pro Football Talk about Swift attending Chiefs fixtures. ‘She sincerely enjoys the games.

‘Behind the scenes she likes to cook, so she made the offensive linemen these homemade Pop-Tarts.

‘So it was over. She knew right where to go.’

But did Reid manage to get his hands on any?

‘No, she didn’t give me one,’ he admitted. ‘And the offensive lineman definitely didn’t!’
