Angelina Jolie Struggles to Trust Men After Brad Pitt Trauma—But She Hasn’t Sworn Off Dating
Angelina Jolie’s split from Brad Pitt may be legally over, but when it comes to romance, she’s in no rush to move on.
In December, the former power couple officially ended their bitter, eight-year divorce battle—closing the chapter on one of Hollywood’s most high-profile breakups.
“It’s hard for her to trust men after what she went through with Brad,” a source told Us Weekly on Saturday. “She hasn’t sworn off men, but she’s not looking for anything serious right now.”
The insider added that the Maleficent star “doesn’t think she’ll ever get over the trauma” of her relationship with Pitt, reinforcing that “she’s not looking for love right now.”
Jolie, 49, and Pitt, 61, share six children:
Biological: Shiloh, 18, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 16.
Adopted: Maddox, 23, Pax, 21, and Zahara, 19.
Despite finalizing her divorce, Jolie is prioritizing herself and her family over new relationships. “She feels fulfilled and content with her children and life,” the source said.
A Nightmare Divorce Battle
Last month, a different source close to Jolie described the divorce process as a “horrendous” experience for her and her family.
“These last eight years have been such a nightmare,” the source told People.
However, a source close to Pitt pushed back against Jolie’s claims, telling People, “Jolie has engaged in one-sided attacks for the past eight years, distorting facts and projecting her behavior onto others, causing collateral damage to those around the family.”
While their divorce is legally settled, one major dispute remains unresolved—their $62 million battle over Château Miraval, the French estate and vineyard they once co-owned.
Children Dropping Pitt’s Last Name?
Jolie’s attorney, James Simon, told DailyMail.com that the actress is relieved to have finally closed this chapter.
“Frankly, Angelina is exhausted,” Simon said. “More than eight years ago, Angelina filed for divorce from Mr. Pitt. She and the children left all the properties they shared with him, focusing on finding peace and healing for their family.”
Following the split, Zahara, Shiloh, and Vivienne have reportedly dropped Pitt from their last name. While Knox and Vivienne are believed to still have some contact with their father, Maddox and Pax are said to be estranged.
Brad Pitt Moves On—But No Wedding Bells Yet
Now that his divorce from Jolie is officially behind him, Brad Pitt is reportedly happier than ever with girlfriend Ines de Ramon. However, sources say marriage isn’t in their immediate plans.
Meanwhile, the legal battle over Château Miraval rages on. Pitt has accused Jolie of selling her stake in the vineyard to the Stoli Group without his consent. Despite progress in their divorce proceedings, sources told DailyMail.com that both sides are prepared to take the matter to a jury trial or mediation if necessary.
