Strictly’s Kristina Rihanoff and Ben Cohen Split After 12 Years Together
Strictly Come Dancing stars Kristina Rihanoff and Ben Cohen have reportedly ended their 12-year relationship, with sources citing financial struggles as the cause of their split.
The former England rugby player, 46, and professional dancer, 47, first met on Strictly in 2013. Their romance was a product of the infamous “Strictly curse,” as Ben later left his then-wife, Abby, for Kristina.
However, friends have now confirmed to The Sun that financial difficulties ultimately tore them apart.
‘It’s Like Karma for Abby’
A source told the publication:
“Ben left his wife Abby for Kristina, only to now split with her. It’s like the curse in reverse. This will be like karma for Abby—she was devastated when Ben left her. It’s like he’s got his comeuppance.”
Signs of trouble reportedly surfaced last year when the couple listed their £1.75 million Northamptonshire home for sale, with Ben admitting in court that financial pressure was affecting their relationship.
Financial Struggles and Legal Issues
The couple faced increasing financial troubles, particularly with their wellness business, Soo Yoga, which they co-founded in 2017. The business, heavily impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic, reportedly struggled to stay afloat, with its latest accounts showing a loss of nearly £500,000.
Court records from last October revealed that Ben was in deep financial distress. He told the court:
“I get up every day and fight not to lose everything—my cars, my house, my relationship. I’m so overdrawn.”
Adding to their legal woes, Kristina was caught driving without insurance last April, leading to six points on her license and the risk of a driving ban.
Relationship Cracks and Final Signs of Separation
Despite their financial struggles, the pair put on a united front last November when Kristina shared a photo with Ben’s two daughters from his previous marriage at a black-tie event. However, she has not posted a picture with Ben himself since last August.
The split marks the end of their long relationship, which started under controversial circumstances but ultimately couldn’t withstand mounting financial pressures.
MailOnline has reached out to the couple’s representatives for comment.
