Angel Reese has already accomplished a lot in her basketball career. Days before she officially begins her WNBA chapter with the Chicago Sky, Reese can reflect on being an NCAA champion with the LSU Tigers in 2023, when she was also named the Most Outstanding Player in the NCAA Tournament. Reese parlayed that success and the 2024 SEC Player of the Year award into the seventh overall selection in the 2024 WNBA Draft, creating an exciting partnership with former South Carolina star Kamilla Cardoso in the Windy City.
However, Reese’s ambition does not end there. The former “Bayou Barbie” is already a key element to the Sky’s rebuild, and her latest Instagram post shows that she is only looking forward, not backward.
Reese: Time to double everything
Reese on Monday celebrated her birthday as only she could, with an Instagram post captioned “time to double everything” — in reference to turning 22 years old. In a five-photo collage, Reese showed off a new dress that strengthens her grip as the WNBA’s new queen of fashion.
Reese is seen wearing a dress with scenes from her career superimposed — mostly from her time at LSU, where she became a household name and helped to usher in a new era of visibility for women’s basketball.

The WNBA did not stream Reese’s preseason debut with the Sky, but that did not dent fan interest in Chicago’s new star. A stream on X (formerly Twitter) racked up more than half a million views, showing that this class of rookies — including Reese, Cardoso, Cameron Brink, and Caitlin Clark — is going to change the game, and the league had better be ready.
