Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has broken his silence following a heated confrontation with Donald Trump and JD Vance in the Oval Office—an exchange so intense that it reportedly led to him being kicked out of the White House.
In a post on X, Zelenskyy issued what many perceived as a sarcastic apology, repeatedly thanking America after being accused of lacking gratitude for U.S. support.
“Thank you, America. Thank you for your support. Thank you for this visit. Thank you, @POTUS, Congress, and the American people. Ukraine needs a just and lasting peace, and we are working exactly for that,” he wrote.
A Tense Confrontation in the Oval Office
The clash reportedly erupted when Trump, backed by JD Vance, criticized Zelenskyy’s attitude, accusing him of being disrespectful during their discussion in front of journalists.
Vance confronted Zelenskyy directly, saying:
“Mr. President, with respect, I think it’s disrespectful for you to come into the Oval Office and try to litigate this in front of the American media.”
According to sources present, tensions escalated when Zelenskyy repeatedly interrupted Trump, even disputing his statements.
Trump, visibly frustrated, rebuked the Ukrainian leader, saying:
“What you’re doing is very disrespectful to this country—this country that’s backed you far more than a lot of people say they should.”
A White House insider told DailyMail.com that U.S. officials were taken aback by Zelenskyy’s demeanor.
“No one expected the meeting to play out as it did because nobody expected him to act that way,” the source revealed.
Trump’s Blunt Warning to Zelenskyy
During the fiery exchange, Trump blasted Zelenskyy for his stance on the war, telling him:
“You have to be thankful. You don’t have the cards. You’re buried there. Your people are dying. You’re running low on soldiers.”
Trump then issued a stark ultimatum:
“You’re either gonna make a deal, or we’re out. And if we’re out, you’ll fight it out.”
Zelenskyy Kicked Out as Trump Declares: ‘He’s Not Ready for Peace’
Following the explosive argument, Zelenskyy was escorted out of the White House, with Trump later posting on Truth Social that the Ukrainian president was “not ready for peace.”
“He disrespected the United States of America in its cherished Oval Office. He can come back when he is ready for peace,” Trump wrote.
Trump also suggested that Zelenskyy was using U.S. involvement as a bargaining chip, saying:
“He feels [America’s] involvement gives him a big advantage in negotiations.”
European Leaders Rally Behind Zelenskyy
Despite the clash, European leaders have come to Zelenskyy’s defense, posting messages of support on X, many of which he retweeted.
Meanwhile, British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer and French President Emmanuel Macron met with Trump in Washington to discuss Ukraine’s future.
During the meeting, Sir Keir handed Trump a letter from King Charles, inviting him for an unprecedented second state visit. Trump reportedly responded that he was “honored” and would be visiting the U.K. “soon.”
Despite the diplomatic discussions, there were no concrete commitments from the U.S. regarding security guarantees for Ukraine.
What’s Next?
With Zelenskyy’s firm rejection of the proposed peace deal and Trump’s tough stance on continued U.S. involvement, the fate of Ukraine remains uncertain.
Will Zelenskyy be forced to reconsider his stance, or will Trump follow through on his threat to pull U.S. support?
The world is watching.
