Zach Wilson’s girlfriend has revealed her excitement at the NFL quarterback’s next chapter in the league amid his exit from the New York Jets. A day after the former first-round pick’s trade to the Broncos, Nicolette Dellanno took to her Instagram Story to celebrate her boyfriend move to Denver on Tuesday.
Re-sharing a post from the NFL’s official Instagram page announcing Wilson’s trade, Dellanno added three orange heart emojis to her story, a nod to Broncos Country. Similarly to Dellanno – a New-Jersey-raised model who was first romantically linked to the quarterback in 2022 – Wilson’s family was ecstatic about Monday’s news, which happened less than two months after Jets general manager Joe Douglas allowed him to seek a trade. ‘Excited for a fresh start. Let’s go!’ Wilson’s mom Lisa shared on her Instagram Story, which highlighted her 24-year-old son in a Broncos uniform.

She added in a separate post: ‘Surround yourself with people [that] love you, cheer for you and want you to succeed.’ It’s been a rough three years in New York for Wilson, who was drafted second overall in 2021.
He ended his time in the Big Apple with a 12-21 record on the Jets. Despite expectations of him being an understudy to Jets starting quarterback Aaron Rodgers last season, Wilson was thrust into action in Week 1 after the four-time NFL MVP ruptured his Achilles just four snaps into his Jets career in September. Wilson went on to alternate between being a starter and on the bench but put in his best performance of the 2023 season with a dominant 30-6 win over the Houston Texans in Week 14.

Much like Dellanno, Wilson’s family is ecstatic about the quarterback’s new chapter in the NFL
He started the following week against the Miami Dolphins but left the field early with a head injury in New York’s crushing 30-0 loss. It resulted in being Wilson’s last game for Gang Green. On Monday, the Broncos received a seventh-round pick (No. 256) from the Jets, who in turn got a sixth-rounder (No. 203), for Wilson. The quarterback lands in Denver with a lot of uncertainty surrounding his playing position within the organization.
Although the Broncos have journeyman Jarrett Stidham and Ben DiNucci, there is no clear starter at quarterback, with many now expecting Denver to be in the mix for a highly rated signal-caller in the 2024 NFL Draft, which begins on Thursday. Former Oregon quarterback Bo Nix has been tipped to be drafted by the Broncos at the No. 12 spot, as projected by The New York Post’s Steve Serby.
