Apple Martin subtly addressed backlash over her public debut at Le Bal des Débutantes in a playful TikTok.
The 20-year-old seemingly responded to claims about her “mean girl” behavior in a since-deleted video posted by her pal Ava Crox, per the Daily Mail.
“I don’t know how anyone has a problem with us. We are such a delight,” Apple and her two friends mouthed to a voiceover.
“We are two of the funniest girls and I know us, like offline,” one of her friends lipsynched as the camera cut to Crox. “When I tell you, there aren’t two more caring, charitable, generous, kind…”
The daughter of Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin made her high society debut last month in Paris alongside her famous parents.
All eyes were on the college student when she waltzed in wearing a blue custom Valentino dress with a large black silk bow.
The gown, which featured six tiers of silk plissé chiffon, took 750 hours to make, according to Vogue.
Apple was filmed walking into the invite-only gala arm-in-arm with Count Leo Henckel von Donnersmarck.
However, negative comments began flooding in after another angle showed her seemingly rolling her eyes at the cavalier.
The influx of hate only grew after a video of Apple and fellow debutante Aliénor Loppin de Montmort went viral for all the wrong reasons.
In the clip, Loppin de Montmort posed for photographers before Apple jokingly jumped into the frame and struck a few poses.
The French debutante awkwardly laughed as the Vanderbilt University student posed with her hands on her hips.
Trolls called out Apple for swooping into Loppin de Montmort’s photo opp and stealing the spotlight.
However, Loppin de Montmort came to Apple’s defense amid the mounting backlash.
“[Apple’s] genuinely the nicest girl ever!” she told People. “She really doesn’t deserve an ounce of what she’s getting.”
“She was the nicest girl ever towards not only me but all the debs!” she doubled down.
Despite the sour reactions online, there were plenty of sweet moments throughout the night — such as Apple’s father-daughter dance with the Coldplay frontman.
The two were all smiles as they took a lap around the ballroom and chatted over the music, per a video shared Paris Match.
Apple wasn’t the only big name at the ball. Italian actress Sophia Loren’s granddaughter Lucia Sofia Ponti attended alongside “And Just Like That” star Nicole Ari Parker’s daughter, Sophie Kodjoe.
Vogue contributor Miranda Brooks and architect Bastien Halard’s daughter Apollonie “Poppy” Hallard was also one of the 19 young women honored.
