Controversial Chiefs star Harrison Butker cozied up to conservative commentators Tucker Carlson and Megyn Kelly Thursday night.
The Kansas City kicker, 29, who sparked liberal outrage for his personal religious and political beliefs earlier this year, attended Carlson’s live show, featuring special guest Kelly, at the city’s T-Mobile Center.
Following the show, which was part of Carlson’s first-ever national arena tour, the Super Bowl winner went backstage to meet the media personalities.
They even commemorated the moment with a photo of the conservative trio which was shared to the host’s Instagram and reposted to the NFL player’s story.
Butker’s meet-up with his ‘friends’ came just one day after Kelly launched a scathing attack on Taylor Swift – the girlfriend of Chiefs teammate Travis Kelce.
The former Fox News presenter issued a brutal takedown of Swift after the popstar, 34, publicly endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris, 59, after her debate with Donald Trump, 78, on Tuesday night.
Kelly claimed the songstress and tight end boyfriend Kelce, also 34, were ‘the epitomes of elite snobs’ who didn’t really care what happened to American kids because they’re too busy ‘jetting across the world’ and ‘sitting in their mansions.’
The media personality went on to slam the Grammy Award winner as ‘disgusting’ for her statement – which was shared to her 284million followers on Instagram – and claimed that the hitmaker and the NFL star, were ‘too obsessed with their money’ to focus on the growing problems in the country.
‘You can kiss your sales to the Republican audience goodbye, Taylor, hope you enjoyed them while you had them,’ Kelly said.
In her lengthy Instagram post, Taylor vowed that she ‘makes sure to watch and read everything she can’ about Trump and Harris’ ‘proposed policies and plans for this country.’
She said she planned to vote for Kamala because she believed the 59-year-old ‘fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them.’
She also praised Kamala’s running mate Tim Walz for ‘standing up for LGBTQ+ rights, IVF, and a woman’s right to her own body for decades.’
Butker has courted controversy with his own views on women’s and LGBTQ+ rights this year.
He sparked outrage a couple of months after helping the Chiefs to a second straight Super Bowl win when he told female graduates at Benedictine College that they should be more ‘excited’ to become wives and mothers rather than successful professionals.
He later doubled down on the views he expressed in the speech, refusing to back down from his views as a devout Catholic.
He also drew criticism for hitting out at the LGBTQ + community and President Joe Biden over his views on abortion, with a petition for the Chiefs to cut him from their roster eventually receiving almost 240,000 signatures.
Last month, he implored JD Vance – Trump’s running mate – and by proxy the former President to bring the Republican party ‘back line’ on its abortion stance.
While Kelce has previously defended Butker, the kicker’s latest stunt could pose a threat to peace within the Chiefs camp.
Shortly after his girlfriend’s statement endorsing Harris, it was reported that Kelce was expected to make a bombshell election announcement of his own soon.
Kelce has kept silent on his girlfriend’s endorsement. However, it has been suggested that the NFL star shares a similar stance.
‘Well, you know the Taylor Swift rumors are interesting to me, because I was told a couple of days ago that Travis Kelce also had reached out to the Harris campaign when it was first announced and said that he wanted to be here on the night that [Kamala] was speaking,’ CBS’ Gayle King said during the DNC last month.
It isn’t the only political divide that could risk derailing the Chiefs three-peat conquest this season after it emerged that Swift and bestie Brittany Mahomes – the wife of quarterback Patrick – also stood on different side of America’s political spectrum.
Brittany, who has been married to the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback since 2022, sparked a liberal meltdown last month when she liked a Donald Trump post on social media.
The close friends’ opposing political views have triggered fears for what they could mean for their fledgling friendship.
Yet, despite courting controversy, Brittany and Taylor dispelled any rumors of bad blood when the Mahomeses joined the songstress and Kelce at the US Open Sunday.
A source exclusively told DailyMail.com that they ‘respect that they have different views’ and have made a ‘pact’ to avoid discussing politics last month and the couples appeared to be nothing but friendly as they soaked up the on-court action.
Meanwhile, Mahomes himself has played peacemaker, providing a thoughtful response when quizzed on his own political stance earlier this week.
‘I don’t want my platform to be used to endorse a candidate – either way – I use that to get people registered, do their research and make their best decision for them and their family,’ the quarterback told reporters Wednesday.
‘Every time I get asked these questions, I’m going to refer back to that because I think that’s what makes America so great.’
