Patrick Mahomes keeps giving back to Kansas City.
The Chiefs superstar quarterback joined his wife, Brittany, to deliver surprise Christmas presents to in-need children, which included essential winter clothes for an EarlyStart program.
“They’re getting coats and socks and hats and gloves, and all these things are essential in order for them to get through the winter months,” EarlyStart interim CEO June McDaniel told KSHB 41 in Kansas City. Patrick and Brittany spent time interacting with children while gifts were passed out.
The Chiefs QB also took photographs and playfully tossed around a miniature football. More than 100 clothing items were passed out to children before the Christmas holiday. Mahomes also handed out gifts to his Kansas City offensive lineman in a separate holiday event, gifting his biggest supporters golf carts. It’s been an especially busy year for Mahomes and the Chiefs. Mahomes, who is the NFL’s reigning MVP, participated in Netflix’s behind-the-scenes Quarterback documentary.
Kansas City is attempting to repeat as Super Bowl champions, while also counting Taylor Swift as their biggest new fan. Kansas City has been inconsistent for most of the season but improved to a 9-5 record with a 27-17 victory over the New England Patriots. Up next for Mahomes and his team is a Christmas Day matchup against AFC West rival Las Vegas. Raiders defender Maxx Crosby probably won’t give Mahomes any free gifts, other than a hopeful sack or two. Las Vegas (6-8) is attempting to keep its season alive with an upset road win over the Chiefs.
