Patrick Mahomes made an interesting fashion choice for the Kansas City Chiefs’ playoff captains photoshoot, begging the question: how did Brittany Mahomes let him leave the house in Crocs?

Mahomes wears white Crocs: did he pull it off?

The Chiefs posted a clip from their video series “The Franchise” on social media, instigating a discussion on their star player’s choice of shoes. After rotating captains throughout the year, Kansas City votes on a set of the most trusted captains to stick with during the NFL playoffs. Mahomes was one of the players chosen, which was the occasion for the photoshoot.  “When it comes to the playoffs, [coach Andy Reid] does a team vote. He lets the players vote on who the captains are,” explained Travis Kelce in the video.

Taylor Swift’s swaggy boyfriend is more known for his fashion sense than Mahomes. He wore custom Nike shoes that matched his suit for the same photoshoot, proving it was possible to cross style with comfort. But Mahomes only checked one of those boxes.
He had plenty of shoes to choose from  “What do you want me to do with these shoes?” the photographer said to Mahomes when he saw the white Crocs.  “Do I need shoes? I don’t even know what shoes I have,” the quarterback replied.

The $500 million quarterback has plenty of options at home, as he showed in videos in the past with his 180 pairs of shoes in his custom-built sneaker room at home. Mahomes is the only quarterback with his own signature shoe, not to mention the custom diamond encrusted pair that Adidas created for his wedding.

Patrick lets Brittany down with choice of shoes

Brittany did all she could to help him out. While taking care of their rambunctious kids, Sterling and Bronze Mahomes, she says she went through the effort to pack shoes for him, but Patrick ignored his wife.  “I definitely put shoes in there….come onnnnn,” she commented under the video posted by the Chiefs, along with laughing and face palm emojis. The comment racked up nearly 10,000 likes on Instagram.
