Patrick Mahomes’ Mom Gets Paid After Super Bowl News

Patrick Mahomes’ mom has promoted her Cameo account on social media, after celebrating her son and his team, the Kansas City Chiefs, making the cut for February 11’s Super Bowl LVIII.  Randi Martin was on hand to support her quarterback son during his team’s 17-10 victory over the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday. The results of the AFC Championship game, which was played at Maryland’s M&T Bank Stadium, sees the Chiefs advancing to the Super Bowl for the fourth time in five years.

During the game, Martin spent time with her daughter-in-law, Brittany Mahomes, her son, Jackson Mahomes, and her teenage daughter, Mia. Also included in her social-media photos from the day was pop star Taylor Swift, who has been in a high-profile relationship with Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce since last year.

As Chiefs fans prepare to watch the NFL team face off against the San Francisco 49ers at the Super Bowl, Martin showed that she is a celebrity in her own right as she promoted a link to her Cameo account.  Cameo is a social-media app that allows celebrities to sell personalized messages and videos to people who are willing to pay for them. They are usually used for such special occasions as birthdays, holidays, or achievements.

Taking to X, formerly Twitter, Martin posted a link to her own account, adding the caption: “I can replace your bday card,” along with a birthday-cake emoji.  The cost for a personal video from Martin is $35, and it includes a guarantee to deliver the requested clips within 24 hours. Users can have their personalized messages shared on Martin’s account, or sent just to them.

Events planner Martin first announced the account in May 2022. In an introductory video, she said: “Randi Mahomes here, mother of Mia, Patrick and Jackson Mahomes. I teamed up with Cameo to help give a shoutout for a special birthday or just answer a few questions, so hit me up.”

Meanwhile, Martin has been celebrating her son heading to the Super Bowl. Following Sunday’s victory, she shared a photo of herself with the athlete.  “No matter what I’ll always be your most faithful fan. I love you son @PatrickMahomes,” the proud mother wrote in an accompanying caption.

The matriarch has long been a fervent cheerleader for her son, who was a first-round pick for the Chiefs during the NFL Draft in 2017. His hugely successful career has included two Super Bowl wins and two NFL MVP awards.  In 2020, Patrick Mahomes, whose father is former MLB pitcher Pat Mahomes Sr., signed a 10-year extension with the Chiefs worth $450 million. It was reported in September that a restructuring of his contract will see him earn a guaranteed $210.6 million from this season through the 2026 season.

As well as garnering support for their sporting prowess, the Chiefs have also been the focus of increased attention after Swift and Kelce became one of the hottest new celebrity couples. In September, Swift captured headlines when she attended a Chiefs game alongside her partner’s mother, Donna Kelce.

Swift has since become a fixture at Chiefs games, with NFL broadcasts often focusing on her presence—much to the exasperation of some football fans.  “I’m just there to support Travis,” Swift recently told Time. “I have no awareness of if I’m being shown too much and p****** off a few dads, Brads, and Chads.”

Addressing the cameras often panning her way, Swift said: “I don’t know how they know what suite I’m in. There’s a camera, like, a half-mile away, and you don’t know where it is, and you have no idea when [the] camera is putting you in the broadcast, so I don’t know if I’m being shown 17 times or once.”  “Football is awesome, it turns out,” Swift added (“playfully,” according to Sam Lansky, the author of the story). “I’ve been missing out my whole life.”
