NFL stars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce are teaming up to open a new steakhouse in Kansas City.
The Super Bowl champions announced their partnership last week to launch 1587 Prime, a modern American steakhouse, inside the Lowe’s hotel.
The name “1587 Prime” is a nod to the quarterbacks’ respective jersey numbers. Mahomes revealed that he hopes the venue will become a celebratory spot for the Kansas City Chiefs, especially after playoff wins.
“Travis and I have been working on this for a while,” Mahomes said. “We see these restaurants all the time and we love bringing people together.”
The steakhouse will feature a spectacular meat display and one of the largest wine collections in the state. Mahomes and Kelce partnered with Noble 33, a hotel group with many restaurants, for this joint venture.
Entrepreneur Tosh Burman, who works closely with Noble 33, said the NFL stars shared “unique and interesting ideas” for the restaurant, including subtle nods to the city’s success and their respective NFL records.
Mahomes and Kelce are excited to bring something special to their community in Kansas City. “We are excited to begin this journey with Noble 33 to create a one-of-a-kind culinary experience,” Kelce added.
