Ryan Reynolds ‘sued’ by Taylor Swift for using her cats in Deadpool sequel
“She has just a lot of very, very powerful lawyers.”
Ryan Reynolds recently opened up about the special cameo of Taylor Swift’s cats in Deadpool 2.
In the 2018 sequel, Swift’s two cats, Olivia and Meredith, were featured on one of Wade Wilson’s shirts.
While promoting Deadpool & Wolverine in a new interview on SiriusXM’s Town Hall, Ryan seemingly joked that he was once “sued” by Taylor for using her cats in the movie.
The Deadpool star said: “Yes, I had a T-shirt made.”
“Yes, of Meredith and Olivia on Wade’s shirt.”
“Yeah, you know, just little details, that’s all.”
When the Host asked: “Now, when you put her cats on a T-shirt, did you have to call her and get permission?”
Ryan quipped: “No, I was sued. I lost everything in that one. And getting sued by a friend is tough to swallow.”
He also added: “Also, she has just a lot of very, very powerful lawyers.”
“I found out later those are just the paralegals.”
“The real lawyers didn’t even bother with it.”
“But…I would never do such a thing,” Ryan remarked about putting on the shirt without Taylor‘s consent.
Clearly, there are no hard feelings between Ryan and Taylor about the shirt, as they have remained close friends.
Ryan and his wife, Blake Lively, who have been married since 2012, recently went to one of Taylor’s concerts in Madrid in May.
There have also been reports of Taylor Swift’s appearance in the upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine, but her casting has never been officially confirmed… so fans will have to wait and see for that one.
The singer’s involvement in the third Deadpool movie was reignited by a recent Instagram post from Ryan.
The post features an image resembling Swift’s Evermore album cover.
