Travis Kelce moved his Chiefs teammates to tears on the eve of their Super Bowl clash with the 49ers after delivering an ‘unbelievable’ and ‘powerful’ pregame speech, according to reports. Kelce and Kansas City are bidding to become the first team to retain the Vince Lombardi trophy for almost 20 years in Las Vegas tonight, with San Francisco standing in their way of a place in the history books.
The 49ers also have the chance to end their 30-year wait for a Super Bowl this evening, meaning the stakes are high for both teams at Allegiant Stadium. On an individual note, Kelce can further cement his status as one of the greatest tight ends in NFL history with a victory in Sin City, which would make him a three-time Super Bowl champion.
And the night before their battle with the Niners, he is said to have left his teammates in tears with a rousing speech at Kansas City’s team hotel.

According to NFL reporter Albert Breer, Kelce addressed the team along with head coach Andy Reid, quarterback Patrick Mahomes and defensive tackle Chris Jones. But it was Travis’ speech which made the biggest impact, moving Chiefs stars to tears as they eye a third Super Bowl in five years this weekend.
One coach is even quoted as saying: ‘Not even close. The best talk/speech I’ve ever heard.’ Kelce is raring to go ahead of his latest appearance on the biggest stage in American sport, where he is set to be cheered on by girlfriend Taylor Swift. Swift wrapped up her final Eras Tour concert in Japan on Friday night and began her mad rush 5,500 miles across the globe to watch boyfriend Kelce in action at Super Bowl LVIII.
Yet instead of heading straight from Tokyo to Vegas, the pop superstar made a pit stop to head to her LA home on Saturday night, before she embarks on an hour-long flight to Sin City later today. As revealed by TMZ, Swift likely did so as she would not have been allowed to link up with Kelce the night before his big game.
NFL rules forbid players from staying with their wives or girlfriends on the evenings before a game, rules which have been ramped up on Super Bowl week. Swift and Kelce’s families will be sharing a Super Bowl suite this Sunday, a new report has confirmed, after the Kansas City star shelled out ‘well over $1million’ to reserve the seats.
Kelce joked earlier this week about ‘losing all the money’ to make sure his family and friends could watch the game. And according to TMZ, he has made good on that promise with Taylor’s parents Andrea and Scott, his brother Austin and his girlfriend Sydney set to sit with Travis’ parents Donna and Ed, brother Jason and sister-in-law Kylie. Taylor is expected to be at the game as well, though it is unclear whether she’ll be in the suite that Kelce paid for or if she’ll be sitting separately with friends.
