Wholesome footage has been released of Prince Harry calling his wife and children before taking to the stage during a trip to New York.
The Duke of Sussex made the call to Megan, Archie and Lilibet before he hit the stage at the 2024 Concordia Annual Summit last month.
Whilst chatting with his family, the 40-year-old panned the camera around the room, giving his children a mini virtual tour of the event space at the Sheraton New York Times Square Hotel.
Harry was at the event to discuss mental health and climate change with two young winners of a legacy award given in Princess Diana ‘s memory.
He was joined on the stage by CEO of the Diana Award Dr. Tessy Ojo and the Diana Legacy Award winners – Chiara Riyanti Hutapea Zhang, 18, and 27-year-old Christina Williams.
Harry said his late mother would be ‘proud’ of the award winners during his eight-day solo trip to the East Coast and the UK in September.
He told them: ‘I applaud you for having the confidence to be on this stage. I know my mother would be incredibly proud of you guys. Your activism is true to how my mother lived her life.’
The two award winners were also very complimentary about the Prince, with Ms Zhang telling PEOPLE magazine: ‘He is just so kind-hearted. Not only was he helping us get comfortable with speaking on stage, but he comforted us after as well.
‘And backstage, he was actually calling Meghan. I thought that was just so sweet, and it helped humanize him. He made sure we had no nerves at all.’
Ms Williams added: ‘Here is someone who is in a high-level role, who really cares about young people, cares about our voices and our actions.
‘They say you never want to meet your heroes, but I met someone who I admire and I am leaving the experience still maintaining that admiration, or even more admiration, to know that he really cares about the causes that he represents.’
Last week, Harry made the journey to South Africa to represent Sentebale, a youth HIV charity he co-founded, following a trip to the tiny mountain kingdom of Lesotho.
The Duke of Sussex was seen smiling with stakeholders, business leaders and strategic partners in Johannesburg as he joined them for a reception and panel discussion on empowering young people and ‘closing the digital divide’.

During the event, he called on global leaders to ‘create a platform for young voices’ and spoke about the need for regional solutions to key issues.
The Prince said: ‘I’ve made it one of my life’s missions to create a platform for young voices, and we have seen time and time again that young voices when they are listened to, have the solutions.
‘Universal access is important, but can we please make it safer for people, especially the Global South, so we don’t have the same problems as in the Global North,’ he said.
‘Access is a double-edged sword; and for us as a society and people in positions of power and authority, I see no excuse for why we can’t change this double-edged sword into something that is beneficial to the entire world.’
His visit followed a trip to the small mountain kingdom of Lesotho – where he is known as ‘the warrior’ – which he has been touring by himself for four days.
Harry co-founded the youth charity Sentebale there in 2006 in honour of his late mother and was pictured with members of the local community.
