She may have bagged a staggering seven gongs at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards in New York on Wednesday night, but Taylor Swift truly stole the show with her sensational outfits.
The singer, 34, kicked off her evening as she hit the red carpet channelling a Clueless punk-inspired yellow plaid dress from the Dior Resort 2025 collection.
The Cruel Summer hitmaker wore a pair of tiny black shorts underneath that showed off her toned legs. She completed the look with thigh-high black leather boots.
Taylor further vamped up her look with black leather gloves and wore dramatic smokey eye makeup. She completed her look with 30 carat Lorraine Schwartz pear shape Canary yellow diamond earrings.
However, it was her next two outfits which caused fans to speculate as she slipped into two similar woodland spaceship themed numbers.
After picking up Video Of The Year with Post Malone, Taylor slipped into a sequinned minidress for her second outfit of the evening.
The Folkmore songstress showed off her amazing figure in the chunky buckle strap silver and green number which featured a space ship hovering over a field.
She put on a very leggy display as she elevated her frame in a pair of towering thigh high black leather boots and accessoried with a simply silver necklace and earrings.
Fans went wild for the number as they pointed out the design had reference to her The Tortured Poets Department single Down Bad.
During the Eras Tour, the star has performed the track, which currently doesn’t have a music video, a number of times as a spaceship appears on the large screen behind her.
Fans took to X and said: ‘This dress is just a whole Down Bad moment and I’m living for it!!!!!; TAYLOR SWIFT HAS A DOWN BAD GREEN DRESS REFERENCE; SHE CHANGED HER OUTFIT AND LOOKS VERY DOWN BAD CODED’
After making history by earning her 30th award as one of her seven gongs during the ceremony, Taylor continued her celebrations by changing into an extremely on-brand look similar to her sequin number earlier in the night.
Slipping into the quirky co-ord with the same woodland spaceship theme as the sequin number, Taylor turned heads as she arrived at an after party.
She teamed her fun printed dress with a matching bomber jacket and chunky black knee high boots as she headed inside the party.
Taylor picked up the Artist Of The Year and the Best Pop award during the night before taking to the stage again with Post Malone collecting the Song Of Summer for Fortnight.
The 14-time Grammy Award winner also picked up the VMA for Best Collaboration, Best Direction and Best Editing for her single Fortnight featuring Post Malone from her latest album The Tortured Poets Department.
During one of her acceptance speeches, Taylor could hardly contain their emotions as the singer gave her boyfriend Travis Kelce a sweet shout-out.
The Anti-Hero hitmaker thanked the NFL star, 34, as she recalled shooting her Fortnight music video while accepting Video Of The Year during the ceremony.
‘I would always just hear someone cheering from across the studio where we were shooting [Fortnight],’ she began.
‘And that one person was my boyfriend Travis. Everything this man touches turns into happiness and fun and magic.
‘I want to thank him for adding that to our shoot because I’ll always remember that,’ she gushed.
Fans were brought to tears as they flocked to social media to react to Taylor’s kind words about her boyfriend of one-year — with many declaring it a ‘hard launch.’
Though they spent the weekend together in NYC, Travis did not join Taylor at the star-studded ceremony.
It comes amid wild rumors that her romance with Kelce is a ‘PR stunt.’
Taylor took home a whopping seven VMAs for Fortnight, bringing her career total to 30. She officially surpassed Beyonce, who was previously the artist with the most VMAs.
Her Video Of The Year win was also historic as she become the first artist to win the honor five times.
She previously held the record for most Video of the Year victories with four trophies under her name.
This year’s festivities were hosted by rapper Megan Thee Stallion and held at the UBS Arena in Long Island on September 11.
The evening was a who’s who of music superstars with Sabrina Carpenter, Katy Perry, Camila Cabello, GloRilla, Rauw Alejandro, Benson Boone, Halsey, LISA, Lenny Kravitz, Anitta, Karol G, LL Cool J, and Shawn Mendes all performing at the show.
