Tom Brady has shrugged off his ex-wife Gisele Bundchen’s ‘hurt’ and ‘upset’ over the portrayal of their marriage during his Netflix Roast, as the NFL legend believes his former spouse ‘will get angry with him for anything,’ insiders have claimed.  The former quarterback, 46, faced a blistering verbal attack on Sunday night’s live show as he was skewered on his divorce from Bundchen, 43, and her moving on with Brazilian jiu-jitsu instructor Joaquim Valente, 35.

The supermodel, who has two children with the sportsman, was left ‘hurt’ and disappointed at Brady for defending the owner of his former team, Robert Kraft, but remaining silent during relentless jabs about her.  But insiders revealed to DailyMail.com that Brady desperately wanted to take part in The Greatest Roast of All Time to clear the air regarding issues about his personal life and career, and said he believes his ex-wife will always find a reason to be mad at him.

‘It just seems to Tom that Gisele will get angry with him for anything and everything and there is nothing he can do to change that,’ the source said.  ‘He will continue to try to be in her good graces for the kids but he also has to stick up for himself and going through the Roast was something he wanted and needed to happen.  ‘And he thinks that if it wasn’t this, something else would have upset her, so there isn’t much he can do to fix that.’

Speaking about his motivation for signing up, they added: ‘Tom is always concerned for his kids, but he wanted to do this Roast to finally clear the air with everything that people have said about him.  ‘He has had an incredible life and career, along with bumps in the road from his relationships with Bill Belichick and Gisele and controversies over Deflategate. He wanted to do this in order to get a clean slate to move forward.’

The source claimed Bundchen is ‘livid’ at the no holds barred approach as she fears she will have to deal with the repercussions for their children.  ‘Gisele was never looking forward to the Roast because she knew she was going to be a part of it,’ the insider confirmed. ‘She was prepared for that and sort of OK with being the butt of jokes.  ‘But what she’s really mad at is the tone it took and that it went on without any barriers.

‘She is livid that her kids will eventually see the jokes and she will have to deal with it and deal with all the repercussions from it. It makes her more upset that it seems like he doesn’t care.’  The former couple — who finalized their divorce in October 2022 after 13 years of marriage — share son Benjamin, 14, and daughter Vivian, 11.

The Greatest Roast of All Time: Tom Brady, which was part of the Netflix Is a Joke Fest, was the first-ever roast to be broadcast live, unedited.  Hours after it aired, Bundchen was said to be angry at the ‘disrespectful’ portrayal of their marriage and the reminders of how Brady’s decision to put his career above all else caused a rift in their marriage.

Despite failing to put a stop to any of the jokes made about their relationship, Brady leapt to action when ‘Roastmaster General’ Jeff Ross dared to joke about New England Patriots owner Kraft and his massage parlor scandal, with the NFL star quickly telling him: ‘Don’t say that s**t again.’  It was the first and only time during the entire roast that he came to anybody’s defense.

Bundchen – who later skipped the Met Gala to spend time with her family in Miami -believes her ex-husband’s handling of the jokes about her was further ‘proof’ that he continues to ‘put football before his family,’ according to PageSix.

However a source close to the Netflix production also told the outlet that the jokes ‘were all in good fun’ and while the comics agreed between themselves that the couple’s kids were off-limits, Brady was not made aware of any of the jabs in advance.

Bundchen started training jiu-jitsu in 2021 – when she is believed to have met her instructor, and now boyfriend, Valente.  News of them dating was confirmed publicly in February when DailyMail.com revealed exclusive footage of the pair kissing on Valentine’s Day.

Bundchen later confirmed she is dating again and divulged details about her new relationship for the first time in a candid interview with The New York Times.  ‘This is the first time I am seeing someone that was a friend of mine first,’ she admitted, without naming her new partner. ‘It’s very different. It is very honest, and it’s very transparent.’

She also denied cheating on Brady before their 2022 divorce.  ‘That is a lie,’ she told the outlet.  Brady, whose previous relationship with Bridget Moynahan also featured on the show, has since been linked to Kim Kardashian and Irina Shayk.
