Travis Kelce has made his grand arrival at Arrowhead as the Kansas City Chiefs prepare to kick off the 2024 NFL season against the Baltimore Ravens.
Kelce, 34, and the Chiefs begin their bid for a historic ‘three-peat’ tonight after capturing a second straight Super Bowl last term, with the Ravens over in Kansas City for a blockbuster showdown on the opening night of the campaign.
It promises to be another epic battle between the two teams after their dramatic encounter in January’s AFC Championship game, where Patrick Mahomes got the better of rival quarterback Lamar Jackson to reach football’s biggest showpiece.
A few hours out from the season opener, Kelce was seen arriving at Arrowhead looking stylish in a white and light brown ombré outfit along with a white-and-red cap and shades.
The Chiefs tight end – whose representatives were forced to deny that he and Taylor Swift have plans to split this week after a fake ‘contract’ surfaced on social media – will return to the field with his girlfriend watching on in the stands as he enters his 12th season with the team.
Mahomes was also spotted making his way into the stadium ahead of their clash with the Ravens, along with controversial kicker Harrison Butker.
Swift is expected to follow later this evening as she prepares to support Kelce in action for the first time since the Super Bowl back in February.
Earlier this week Kelce’s team called in lawyers after the fake contract stating that his and Swift’s romance is a sham began circulating online.
The paperwork, which appeared to have been created by Los Angeles-based firm Full Scope, revealed an alleged strategy for the super-couple to make their split, with the date for an announcement penciled in for September 28.
It also outlined a supposed plan to release an official statement at the end of this month – three days ‘post-break up’ to ‘allow the initial media frenzy to settle and ensure clarity’.
It added that the announcement would be ‘gracious, respectful and stress mutual respect.
Laying out what it would say, they write: ‘Example: Travis and Taylor have decided to part ways after careful consideration. They both value and respect each other’s personal lives and appreciate your respect for privacy during this time.
They are both committed to their careers and personal growth. They remain friends and wish each other the best.’
The paperwork also stated that the announcement would focus on Mr Kelce’s ‘personal growth’ by framing the breakup as a ‘natural part of life.’ It also will highlight his commitment to his career and his ongoing achievements in the sports industry.’
However, on Wednesday night a spokesman for Full Scope insisted the supposed contract is ‘entirely false and fabricated and were not created, issued or authorized by this agency’.
The representative also said they have called in lawyers – though they are not expected to find the culprit.
‘We have engaged our legal team to initiate proceedings against the individuals or entities responsible for the unlawful and injurious forgery of documents,’ they said.
Swift attended all four Chiefs playoff victories last season in different cities. She sported a No 87 bomber jacket designed by fellow NFL WAG Kristin Juszczyk during the Wild Card game against the Miami Dolphins.
She will watch on in the stands as Kelce and Kansas City look to claim an early scalp against Baltimore, who are seeking revenge after their defeat in the AFC Championship game.
On the eve of the Chiefs’ NFL opener, Travis opened up on how his family really feels about the added spotlight with Swift now a member of the family.
Speaking on CBS Mornings as part of a promotion for a new Pepsi advertisement, the football legend said that he had some idea of what he was getting into and isn’t deterred by the constant media attention paid to him and his family.
‘It’s the life I chose I guess, I have fun with it, it comes with the territory of wanting to do fun stuff like this and signing up for cool sponsorships like this and endorsements,’ Kelce said.
He added, ‘Everybody is loving it, Mama Kelce is having so much fun, I think my dad is slowly getting more comfortable with it, and [brother] Jason has always been a pro at it.’
