Patrick Mahomes and Maxx Crosby’s rivalry is popular in the NFL. From head-butting to speaking trash, the football enthusiasts have seen all. This year’s docuseries ‘Quarterback,’ which streamed on Netflix, also highlighted Patrick Mahomes and Maxx Crosby’s trash talks during a Week 5 game.

However, there is a lot more to just head-butting and trash-talking between the two-star players. Most recently, in an interview, the Kansas City Chiefs QB talked about him and explained why he does not like playing against the Las Vegas Raiders defensive end. Furthermore, during the same press conference, coach Andy Reid, too dived into their rivalry as the Chiefs are heading towards playing against the Raiders on November 26.

Is it all because of the same play, same style?

During a press conference recently, coach Andy Reid was asked about the rivalry of Patrick Mahomes and Maxx Crosby. The 65-year-old emphasized that although Mahomes and Crosby get under each other’s skin, that’s part of both the team’s matchups, and according to him, Mahomes and Crosby’s rivalry is healthy too.

On the other hand, Mahomes was asked about a similar topic and his trash talk moments, where Max Crosby once targeted Mahomes calling him a trash talker. He replied in the press conference that he doesn’t like playing against him, as he knows “what type of player he is, and the mindset he comes in with.” Furthermore, the QB said that he is not going to talk trash about Crosby, as he respects him.

Besides the head-butting scene, Mahomes thinks Crosby’s always-winning attitude, similar to his own, has earned his respect for the Raiders’ star. All these reasons are the reality of why the young legendary QB doesn’t want to play against him.

The famous head-butting scene!

Whenever the two AFC West rivals, the Chiefs and Raiders meet, football enthusiasts always expect some firecrackers. In the last season in a Week 5 clash, when the two teams met, fans witnessed an interesting headbutting scene between Patrick Mahomes and Maxx Crosby. This offseason, Crosby in a podcast recalled the incident, explaining that he and Mahomes clashed at that point of time when Crosby sacked Mahomes twice. Mahomes didn’t like it.

He then bumped Crosby on his back, and so, when Crosby turned, he started head-butting him. This incident was captured because the Chiefs QB was mic’d up for the Netflix documentary, in which Mahomes could be heard saying, “I’m here all day,” to the Raiders rusher. Crosby said that Mahomes has a competitive nature, and is a “trash talker,” too. Therefore, this time, Mahomes chose to give a savage reply to the rusher, as he kept his tonality low and challenging for him.

Coming to the present, the Chiefs are now set to face off against the Raiders on Sunday, November 26 at 4:25 PM ET at Allegiant Stadium. It would be interesting to see how Patrick Mahomes and Maxx Crosby face each other in this game. Will we witness another head-butting moment this season? What do you think?
