Angel Reese is a highly promising women’s basketball player competing in the NCAA, however in her sudden absence from the team her mother has stolen the spotlight thanks to her feud with the parent of another player. Reese proves to be almost unstoppable every time she takes to the court, averaging 23.0 points, 15.4 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game as a sophomore as the youngster spear-headed LSU to the national title last year
Now her mother has a rivalry that has caught the eyes of onlooking fans as she faces off against Flau’jae Johnson’s mother, Kia Brooks, but who exactly is Angel Webb? Webb initially made her name as a talented basketball player herself, as she was a star player for UMBC in the 1980s and 1990s. She racked up an impressive 1390 points and 932 rebounds and even played professionally for a year in Europe. It’s through her that Reese got into the game, watching her play on Sundays before later deciding to emulate her parent by following her into the sport.

“I used to go to my mom’s games when I was younger,” Reese said to Just Women’s Sports. “She used to play in a little league, and I used to always go to watch her games on Sundays. “That was something that was always inspiring to me. She’s always been independent and she molded that into me. I am who I am because of her.”
Why is Webb in the news?
Reese missed the entire second half of the LSU game against Kent State before being completely absent from the team in their most recent match versus Southeastern Lousiana. It’s prompted a war of words online between the parents of the girls, with Webb getting involved by posting a veiled message seemingly at the parent of Flau’jae Johnson. “Folks pls do not sent me long text msgs with a bunch of grammatical errors,” Reese posted to Instagram. “It gives me a headache [facepalm emoji] how do I know you said what you said if I can’t understand what you’re saying [facepalm emoji] [cry-laughing emoji]”.
Johnson’s mother, Kia Brooks, would go on to respond and accuse her of being a bad person. “Stop being petty, fake and hateful and take responsibility for you and your daughters actions,” Brooks posted on Instagram. “Your just as responsible you raised her that way. “Nobody give a damn who you think you are since you came up off another’s brand.” She appeared to close the rant out with a threat by writing, “Just like God gave it to you he will take it right away.”
