Why Travis Kelce had ‘mixed feelings’ over Taylor Swift date night at Yankees-Guardians game

Travis Kelce has admitted he had ‘mixed’ emotions during this week’s trip to Yankee Stadium with his girlfriend Taylor Swift.

The Chiefs star headed to ‘hostile territory’ to watch New York take on his hometown team, the Cleveland Guardians, in Game 1 of the ALCS.

Kelce and Swift were in the stands as the Yankees drew first blood with a 5-2 victory thanks to home runs from Juan Soto and Giancarlo Stanton.

Cleveland has not won a World Series since 1948 and Kelce was conflicted as he tried to enjoy his evening out, while also hoping his team would pull through.

‘I’m in hostile territory – it’s the Bronx Bombers and I’m at Yankee Stadium and it’s the playoffs,’ he said on the latest episode of ‘New Heights’.

I’m over here cheering for the Guards cause I’m a Cleveland kid and I want to see Cleveland win a f***ing World Series.

Kelce added: ‘It was mixed feelings because I was there trying to have some fun with Tay and everybody, all our friends… came, we had an unbelievable crew with us and hanging with us.

‘It was fun, even though the Guards couldn’t pull it off, it was still an exciting game, it was cool to see Yankee Stadium.

‘I always wanted to see that thing in person, in a playoff game, in a hostile environment and it didn’t disappoint, man. The Yankees, the fans, the players, everybody involved man, it was awesome.’

Kelce is used to competing at the very top of sports, having won three Super Bowls in the last five years with Kansas City.

But the tight end was still left in awe at the stars of Major League Baseball, telling brother Jason: ‘I’ll tell you what, when Stanton and Soto get a hold of one man, oh s*** that ball flies off the bat. It is impressive s***.’
